fix old 46" RCA projection tv model #p46720lv i purchased in 1996. wh?

I do not have a controller for it so when i press the power button on the tv, I get a beep and the power button blinks once. But, no picture nor sound. Could you please help! Thanks!

I had the same problem before with the same model. It was the High Voltage Power Supply Unit. Which has gone bad a second time after another 4 years of use.

The TV repairman that just came to my house and looked at it told me it was the power unit again. He asked if we had had a video game system attached to it. Yes we had PS2, N64, PS1, & Game Cude. He replied that that was my problem.

The old projection tv systems were not designed to handle the rate at which the video signal is being sent. It tries to keep up and after an extended period of use, the power supply overheats and burns out.

The kicker is that RCA doesn't sell the PS anymore. Apparently to push its new sets.
