fisher and paykel smartdrive 9 5.5 pride wont start rinse cycle?

Hi guys. in a tight spot. washing machine is old. it washes ok and then when it tries to drain it starts to drain, stops, beeps continually until i manually move it along to rinse, and then you cant press anything except for the on/off button after that. it also doesnt have this problem when there are no clothes in it. also this started when we moved house but was ok on the first few washes!!!! AAARRGH!! would appreciate it. cheers.

Hi there, I have a F&P smart drive 9 pride 5.5 that doesn't work display is fine choosing the cycle that you want is fine but it doesn't start, when you push start it just blinks at long wash, no water comes out. Please help

Well. The washing machine blew up in the end. a burned smell came out near the top of the machine. so we borrowed antoher machine ( exactly the same ) from a family member. works fine. but within about 4-5 washes the same thing happened again. the beeping and the amount of lights! cant believe it. if it is a voltage issue - is it something to do with the household wiring as we tried a different socket with the same results? not sure where to go now. impossible

The light sequence you listed is error code 62 which means the drain pump is drawing too much current. Usually means a new pump will have to be installed. You could try taking it out & make sure it is clean & dry. At same time check for any rubbish inside the opening which may stop the pump. If same fault code comes up again then you will have to get a new pump.

Hi. Inlet hoses are fine. although i switch off hot water and use cold only. even if it defaults to warm. the water empties out well. its now going through its spin. as there are no more clothes to wash i can only report on the last load of light errors :- Left to right - (eight lights in total), 1 + 2 -OFF. 34567 - ON. 8 - OFF
Pete - I think i will do what you recommend as a final, i guess until i can ascertain light errors. cheers guys

Check first that the inlet hoses are correct. Cold tap going to C inlet on panel & hot tap going to H. If they are ok start machine put in some water then advance to final spin & press start. Does all water empty out? If yes then there is no blockage in pump and you will need to run a wash until it stops & beeps. At that point, take note of exactly which lights are on & which are off along the top row. Post that error code back here & I will tell you what it means.

You will find and obstruction in the drain pump or piping - disconnect the power - tip the washing machine over and remove the drain pump assembly - use a torch - there is one clip that needs to be released to allow you to rotate the pump a little and remove it - I found a bra wire in mine with similar symtoms - It may come up with a code or beep differently - my pick is when you moved it it was carried on its side and whatever it is has obstructed the pump impeller
