renault kangoo white smoke?

hi guys i bought a renault kangoo van about 2 months ago.
54 reg,1.5 dci 80+,70k miles
nothing wrong with it all working fine.i took it to the garage to change the cambelt.has been some problems water pump leaking, pistons bracket i think need changing all common things for renaults i've been told.just that after i changed the timing the car started to smoke.white smoke with bad rubber/plastic burnt plastic smell coming from the exaust.it did like this for 2 weeks now ,no lack of power just white smoke with bad smell but just ocasionally not all the time
any thoughts why is this happening?i took it back to the garage and it's still there as they can't figure what;s wrong.thanks a lot

I have a 55 plate kangoo 1.5 dci , the cam belt broke snapping the valves head / cambrlt n gasket replaced as well as 1 injector as snapped valve had flattened it but now after running it for a while it starts to smoke an oily stinky smell I've checked the turbo shaft ( in situ ) has a little play but nothing major can anyone help with this is it the turbo seals ? Cheers

i had this problem for the last 6 mo0nths now.all i do just top it up with some oil from time to time.i,ve been to renault and they've cahnged the glow plugs, preheater, accelormeter and air temperature sensor.the white smoke it's still there but not as bad.took it back today and said that the engine it;s on it's way out and reccomend getting rid of it.i'm not that sure though.

hi mate, the 1.5 dci as you have is a pretty gud engine as far as renaults go but they need care and attention... regular oil change and a gud quality engine flush is a must....piston rings stick otherwise resulting in loss of compression and poor cold starting... (changed loads when i worked for renaults).... if this white smoke thing only started since the cambelt change i wud defo question as to whether the belt timing is right...other than that i would look at the glow plugs to make sure if all four are working correctly .....e,mail me on "p one two one escort at aol dot com if you dont have any luck ok....(p121)
