For most of the above problems with newish boxes, make sure all aerial plugs are making a PERFECT connection to the lead. Digital is much fussier than analogue. Get a new aerial fitted. A new wideband aerial is needed. Retune to your LOCAL transmitter. Since going digital you may be getting a not so local transmitter. Find out by pressing MENU, 4, 1, BLUE. Note the frequencies. Look up your LOCAL frequencies and Retune as needed. If you get stuttery playback your power supply needs new capacitors. This will also solve nearly all other probs. Mine is about 5 or 6 years old and has had 2 lots of capacitors fitted. I use it all the time, and have had most of the mentioned hassles and problems. To the above person that took his hard drive apart. NEVER, NEVER, EVER take one apart!! They are made in a sterile, dust free atmosphere. Open it and it'll suck in dust like a Hoover. These are excellent boxes when set up correctly. I think they are better than most other branded units as these are so simple to use.
