The pump has gone on my wd420 Hotpoint washer dryer.
I have found a replacement pump online but I don't know what tool I need to take off the plasic straps which are holding the damaged pump in place. What do I need and where should I go to get it? Any advice in fixing it would be great, thanks.

pumps are normally held on with a couple of self tapping screws from underneath and spring clips hold the hoses in position on the pump.(codge repair springs to mind )
if you are saying the pump is strapped down with no screws just cut through the plastic straps go to a motor accessory shop and get a packet of plastic ratchet ties of the nearest size to the removed one,
or ask a man friend/neighbor for a couple of self tappers that will fit the bottom of the new pump and secure it to the base of machine
