How to fix my recliner?

I have a single recliner that will not click back into place. It is stuck reclined, i have tried to push it back into place but it wont stay closed. Does anyone know how i can fix this. I turned it on its side and the springs seem fine so can't figure out whats wrong.

Crawl under or flip it on it's back and look towards the front underside of the recliner to be sure the hinge mechanism isn't rubbing the supporting slat. Mine was rubbing so badly it had left a notch from the metal rubbing the wood.
If that is the problem, just loosen and adjust the screws on either side until it is no longer rubbing when you attempt to close it.
