How can I fix a Thomson DT16300 Recorder?

I have a Thomson DT16300 Digital TV Recorder. It appears to have 'seized up' with the RED light on the front being lit permanently. I cannot get it it to change to GREEN to allow the recorder to operate.

Any ideas how to 'unfreeze' it?
