shower?

the trip switch for the shower keeps triping all the time will i have to get an electrician in

Yep, It sounds like the circuit breaker on the consumer unit is either wrong spec, ie youve uprated your shower and not the breaker or its failing and needs to be replaced. PS if youve up'ed the shower, say from 7.5Kw to 9.5Kw you are also likely to need a heavier supply cable too! A Fire is a dreadful thought. Keep safe, Call a Pro.

Yes get an electrician for two reasons. 1) You are long time dead. 2) If you are in the UK, it is now illegal to DIY that sort of thing in the bathroom.

sounds like your heating element in the shower is tripping your rcd. how old is the shower and how long have you had the shower on rcd circuit.
