How do I fix the lid switch on my Kenmore 110.26954690?

My washer will not drain or spin and I get an OL indicator even though the lid is closed. Holding down the switch manually does not allow the tub to activate. Could this be a problem with the lid switch or could it be another part?

Hello,

If your washer goes dead when its supposed to drain/spin that sounds like a lid switch malfunction. If you got an OL reading with your meter with the switch closed means a bad lid switch. If your not sure you can use a short piece of insulated wire to jump the lid switch for a test. (Unplug washer first) If the machine spins with the switch bypassed the switch is bad. Once you get to that point just used a flat screwdriver to take the two clips off and then rock the whole cabinet forward and out of the way. The lid switch is under the cabinet. Hope this helps.
