f-03 fault code flashing on hotpoint ultima 1600 wf865?

f03 fault code flashing on hotpoint ultima wf865?

Had the machine for 3 months and it just started displaying f03 this afternoon, i cant find any explanation on the net about this code so im hoping someone here can shed some light on it. The machine is still going as I switched all power off to it for 5 mins then switched on again and all seems to be well, but im curious as to what the code meant or means for the future

Ok the above has just happened again, has anybody got any idea what this fault code means and maybe an explanation of other codes encountered on this machine. Thanks in advance

I took the back off at the bottom and sure enough there was a blue ribbon cable that had come loose. Popped it back in and it all works fine.

Thank you for saving me an engineer call out!

f-03 is a common problem with this machine.

The circuit board is situated very close to the bottom of the machine and also very close to the motor.
When the machine vibrates it can cause the circuit board to come away from the side mountings and gets struck by the motor. Mine did this and ended up cutting through the wires to the PCB. not good. cost me £125 for new PCB and had to re-wire. but this gave me the fault code F-03. hope this helps

hi...i seem to have hot on a similar problem with my hotpoint ultima dryer...only different codes depending on the cycle i try and run, i get f10 in the cottons-high heat cycle, and f08 in the low heat cycle. have not tried other cycles. will try and unplug and restart to see if that helps, but otherwise any other clues would be really helpful! I've cleaned the fluf from both filetr & condenser and emptied the water...

ok just a quick update, 45 mins after engineer left got same problem, phoned and got a new date for repair, when the guys arrived they brought with them a new board and heater which they fitted ..............so machine is on just now and fingers crossed but as to what the problem really was dont really know but after talking to the guys most probably the main board was faulty but because they had it and because they could they renewed the heater element as well............and on a definately more positive note for me I have nothing but praise for Hotpoints customer service people and engineers, there polite , curtious, fast and efficient ( of course your experience may be different ), its important to state the good aswell as the bad, I'll keep you all updated

ok engineer has just been out and diagnosed a loose connection to the main board , very simple to fix just pop the top off ( be sure to unplug your machine before you start) and reseat the ribbon connctor to the main board, he also reseated a ribbon connection in the bottom of the machine ...........so if your machine shows f 03 give the above a go, good luck.

many thanks tony for narrowing it down, but do you think this is something i can tackle myself..........ie is it my drain pipe or should i just leave well alone. The reason i ask is i have an engineer coming out on monday which is good but im thinking more to the future when that all important warranty runs out, and so why oh why doesnt hotpoint post its fault codes on its website. The only codes ive found start with an E and even then they dont corespond to the number i want, they have the codes and what they mean but even after emailing im still in the dark, And so because of the very poor customer service I wont ever buy hotpoint again................I mean for gods sake its my machine displaying my codes but with no means to diagnose those problems................once again many thanks tony and if you or anybody else has any other codes and there meanings it would be very much appreciated
