Water Level not Resetting ?

Hello,

I have a Simpson Esprit 550 5.5 kg heavy duty washing machine which has worked a charm for over 7 years, until recently the water level adjustment doesn't work. I can't reset it to low, medium or high and it simply over flows. Is this repairable or is time to give it away ?

Could be a faulty water inlet valve not shutting off at correct level. Start filling machine then push timer knob in to stop machine. Water should stop flowing in straight away. Try this several times. If there is any hesitation or water continuse to flow after timer is pushed in then change the water inlet valve. If water valve checks ok then check the air hose from the water level switch down to the bowl. Look for any cracks, splits or perishing. Replace if necessary. If ok, remove air hose from pressure switch and blow down it in case it has a blockage.
