Renault Laguna estate central locking problem?

I have a 2000 X plate Renault Laguna estate sport DCi. The remote central locking has stopped working (the light on the keyfob lights up when pressed) and when the drivers door is unlocked by key it only unlocks drivers door, no others so central locking is not working on this either. The central locking switch inside the car works fine locking and unlocking all doors. Could you tell me what this is and what I'd need to fix it.

Have a problem on my 05 Laguna estate. When I exit the car the passenger door and the rear doors lock automatically. I also dont get a warning sound if light are left on. (Might be a separate issue)
Key fob will not lock the car.

I have a Renault Laguna Privilege 2002. The front passenger side does not lock when I press the button to lock the car. All the other doors lock, except for that one.

Is there any one that can help?

Much appreciated!

Keith's answer below works perefectly...Thank you Keith;

This was almost right for my laguna mk1 estate,
I have had this problem after management system was reset after repair (Alt/powersteering pump delt snapped)

Step 1 Ign off, leave drivers door open!!

Step 2 Press Central door locking button for more than 5 secs, doors will lock/unlock and then dash light will stay on!! (not flashing)

Step 3 Press and hold each key fob button until flashing light on key fob goes out (Important!!) Doors will lock and unlock,

Step 4 Get out car, shut door, try key fobs, they should work!!

Keith.

Hi - I have similar problems with a 2004 Laguna expression. It has only happened about two weeks ago. Strangely the unlock function seems to work when I press the keycard (indicators blink and the unlocking sound is made), but when I press lock on the key card - nothing. I have tried the spare key with exactly the same problem. checked the fuse but prob a waste of time cos if that had blown the unlock function wouldnt work either (fuse was ok of course). - so no answer yet Cheers -B (Brit in Gothenburg)

I've put brand new batteries in the key but still nothing. I also tried what you suggested above but no luck. I think that's for the newer models as mine is a rocker switch in the centre console but I tried it anyway. It locked last night fine as normal but this morning just wouldn't work. It's the first time I've had any problems like this.

Re-sync the key using the instructions at

http://www.programyourkeys.com/Renault_Laguna_II_Key_Remote_Control_Fob_Transponder_Programming.html

Note- at step 2 (2. Press the central door locking button for more than 5 seconds) they are referring to the switch inside the car.

At step 4 it's the button on the key fob.

It might be worth putting a new battery in the key before re-syncing.
Hope this helps.
