Neon Shower switch won't turn off?

The main switch to send power to my shower won't turn off. Even though the shower is off, the main switch outside the bathroom won't let me press it to the off postion. As it was heating up the whole time, I've turned off the fuse for it but how can I resolve it properly?

Check with a qualified electrician first , that said, you may have the supply line from the consumer unit and the feed to the shower module swopped over so the switch is backwards, seeing constant voltage from the wrong side. What make and model of switch is it? is it dipole?

So AndyPUK... two naughty tradesmen.

The plumber connects the pull cord isolator switch back to front (so the neon is always on) easily rectified and not really a problem at all - and then the wicked electrician rips you off by claiming the switch needs replacing - tch tch.

I had a supposed plumber fit us with a shower with a pull cord switch that had a neon indicator on it.

the indicator was always on, he said that it was because it was showing it had power.

When and electrician saw it, he told us that the cretin had wired it incorrectly and the damage that had done, it had to be replaced completly.

Check your wiring

Replace the switch, AnJe - but, if the shower itself is turned off, it shouldn't be using any electricity!
