TV CARD RECONISE'S BT878 INSTEAD OF PINNACLE ?

I BOUGHT A OLD STYE PINNACLE RAVE CARD (BIG TUNER ONE ) AND IT WAS USELESS . EVERY TIME I RECORDED SOMETHING OFF THE TV, IT SUFFERED BAD SYNC REGARDING VIDEO/AUDIO .
SO I DOWNLOADED THE BT878 DRIVER FROM THE WEB .
AND OK THEY WORKED BUT TUNER WAS STILL C**P.

ANY WAY BOUGHT A NEW ONE SAME PRODUCT BUT THIS ONE HAD A SMALL FLAT SQUARE TUNER AND DIFFERENT SOFTWARE (PCTV 5 SE V5.10)--PLUGED THIS BABY IN AND WELL THE DIFFERANCE WAS EASY TO SEE .."ITS SORTED"

HAVE I CHANGED THE CHIPSET IN THE TUNER OR THE OLD ONE OR IS IT STILL IN MY REG FILES .

I WANNA SELL IT TO SOMEONE ....WILL IT WORK WITH ORIGINAL SOFTWARE FOR THEM /..ORIGINAL SOFTWARE DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE
PLEASE HELP

The Pinnacle often uses a clone chip of the BT878 (BT= Brook Tree) called CN878 (CN = Connextant) either the manufacturer has substituted a genuine BT878 or the computer system is confused by the self identification from the TV unit.

Just sell the unit "As Is." Numerous users know how to correctly identify which drivers are needed to return the usable hardware to service.
