Hi Not sure if this will help with your model but...i had similar prob with tom tom go 500
There is a reset `button.` ( more like a tiny pinhole really) on the bottom underside. Use a paperclip or similar to push in the hole to reset the screen functions etc.. I didnt lose any data on mine either!.
