how can i fix my mantle clock?

I have a smiths enfield mantle clock with two wind up points, i wound them both tight and now it wont work. If I turn the hour hand manually it chimes. How do I get the time part working again? Can i fix this myself?

Most of the time when a clock is warn out or dry, you wind it up and it doesn't do anything. If your clock has not been oiled in 3 years then it is dry. If it has not been overhauled in 10, it is warn out and needs bushings. You need to have a repairman look at it and determine what it needs.

Or you can apprentice with a master clock maker for about 3 years and you'll be able to do it.
