After starting the power up, the laptop just cut out. From that point it won't start up whatsoever. I've tried a different battery and nothing happens. Could anyone help please?

I had the same problem with my laptop. I had it checked out, only to be told that it would cost quite a bit to repair. Something to do with a small internal power unit/suply, I am not sure what they meant by that, but I did ask anther company about it and they wanted £150 just to look at it and maybe repair it. I gave up in the end. Well, it wasn't a very expensive laptop and it is over 4 yrs old.
