how do i stop my water storage combi tank from making a loud whining noise?

After flushing toilet, or using hot or cold taps, or shower, or washing machine- there builds up a lound whining noise. tried trying all water outlets in turn, doesn't seem to be an air lock. noise begins after water tank beins to fill. All 'outlets' are downstairs, water tank is on next floor up.
please help if you can, thanks!

Wendy, you could try closing the incoming stopcock slightly, or replace the ballvalve on the water storage tank. It may be that some additional pipe clips are required on the pipework in the property, or that some pipes could be secured too tightly to floor joists etc causing them to rub on opposing surfaces when water is drawn from taps etc
