hi, if the pressure on the gauge is less than i bar then you will have a problem lighting the boiler as it will be set to trip out around 1 bar, to fill it up to about 1.5 bar there will be a small top up valve from the main cold water suppy which feeds cold water into one of the heating pipes to or from the boiler pipe work, this is called the filling loop, gently turn this valve so letting cold water into your heating system WATCH THE GAUGE MOVE TO 1.5 BAR THEN CLOSE THE VALVE, you will now be able to start the boiler, the pressure will rise a bit due to the water expanding in the system.be carefull take your time and you will sort it out there is nothing difficult to sorting out boiler problems just look at the system ask yourself where do each pipe go is it hot or is it cold water and what is not happening that should happen.[ do not play with the gas suppy! ] keep smilling bob.
