Why wont door wont close properly?

Fitting a wooden door I have recessed the hinges, but when it is almost closed there is resistance, any suggestions of possible reasons would be greatly appreciated

sounds like the hinges are hinge bound which is when rhe hinges are either chopped in too deep or the hinges are fitted to near into frame
try packing the hinges out a bit & retry or refit hinges slightly away from the frame
