Re Glow.Worm Micron 50FF Fault?

Hi can anyone help with this one, had the above boiler for under 3 years, lately the heating would just turn off and you would have to reset the boiler to get it to come back on again.
The other day it stopped altogether and gave the fault code for software sequence error, the engineer said it needed a new pcb which he has just fitted, we now get wrong polarity error, he cant see anything wrong, takes it apart puts it back together and we now get Thermistor error.

HELP?????????????????????????????

Been having the same problems for years. Finally got a board where i don`t have to keep resetting but it fires up when its not programmed to. Will try the thermister trick.

All Glow worm Micron boilers have faulty PCB's The answer is to change the PCB and the THERMISTER. They should always be changed as part of a kit and must never fit one without the other. This information comes from Glow Worm them selves but they were reluctant to release this to engineers, not alone the public. This is because they want you contact their Tech Help Line which costs 50p per minute. The replacement will cost up to £250.00 because part of the wiring loom of the boiler usually burns out when the PCB fails. It is more economical to install a quality Worcester boiler the come with 3 years warranty and will give you a least 7 years trouble free service. They are the best boilers money can buy. The Micron is at the cheaper end of the contract boiler market and you only get what you pay for.

same here - we moved to a house with one fitted and the PCB failed in the first month.

We've just had our third PCB in 6 years for our Micron 50FF. Stangely each one has been different to the last..... I suspect there is a design fault here that we haven't been told about !

Our conclusion is to get a more reliable boiler installed. Not much help I'm afraid
