Hi, i have a small front porch,with marley tiles,the edges have been sealed with a felt like substance,which appears to have been spread on has anyone any idea what this is,it is peeling away,and i would like to reseal it.

Sounds to me it's a bodge job. Ask about cloaking [closing in] the edges of the porch roof at your local builders merchants. There is a product used to close in the edges of gable ends on main roof which can be used on the porch roof no doubt. What's on their you'll have to scrap off or with care burn off but be careful and use hot air gun rather than a blow torch.
