my recorder keeps flashing a red light and will not work since it downloaded some software about six weeks ago>

My Kelvinator LCD (Model No. KRL2228) TV's switch on/off red light is keep flashing when I turn it on, and it wouldn't change to green light. Therefore, I cannot turn on the TV to watch it at all!! Please kindly tell me what happened?
