my sister got the DXG model 518, and gave it to me saying it didn't work. i turned it on, and it said "MEMORY ERROR!" i took out the card, and it disappeared. i put the card back in, and it reappeared! what's wrong? is it fixable? is the camera just crap? HELP!

This camera will only accept up to a 1G SD card. If your using any card higher than that you will most likely get an ERROR MESSAGE.

It may be the card is bad, is this a new card ? If so it might not be compatable with the camera. I don't know if the camera is compatable with SDHC cards ( High capacity ) Putting a SDHC card in a camera that won't accept the card will say memory error. Try and borrow a friends SD card with no pic's on it, put it in and go to menu and format card and see if it will work.
