boat leak?

I have a water leak in my lower end of a inboard mercruiser 3L 135 Hp engine some told me that when t got fishing line wrapped around my prop this created the leak and what part is damaged

sounds like the gland where the propshaft enters the hull has been pushed into the boat by the pressure of the line being crammed up against it, check it out and renew the gland seal if showing any signs of damage. doesnt bear thinking about if it totally fails at sea!
