Kitchen Appliances?

I have a Kenwwood KM210 Mixer and the Speed Controller is faulty. It appears to control the speed by altering the distance between a ferrite ring on the motor spindle and a transformer mounted on the PCB, quite ingenious! Anyway not that clever as some of the components are underrated, it has blown the 0.1uF Cap and the carbon resistor next to it. Does anybody know the value of the resistor as it is too badly burned to read it?
