Sky Plus recording capacity?

Compared to other family members, the amount of recording capacity on our Sky Plus box seems extremely small. Currently we get about 24 hours of recorded programs but have been told that it should be nearer 100 hours. Is this correct and, if so, how can we remedy this? We have tried 'housekeeping' but it makes no difference. Also the box is sometimes noisy, again is this normal? We have had Sky Plus for 3 years.

Thanks, will give it a try and let you know how we get on.

hi - if you go to tv guide then there should be a red button for anytime tv - if that isnt there you have the old version - sounds like to me if you have the old one - you have 2 ways of dealing with this - buy a new pvr3 off ebay (buyer beware of course) or phone sky and complain saying you are paying the same subscription as someone who has a pvr3 and feel that this is unfair as you should be getting the same. see what they say and try and get a free service call or they might try and charge you £65 for the service call - whatever the outcome you want to make it clear that you want a pvr3 and not a replacement pvr2 - if that all makes sense - why should you be paying the same as everyone else and only getting half the service - good luck

Thank you Shaun. By anytime TV do you mean you can record a programme that has already been broadcast rather than one that is going to be? If this is the case then we do have the older one.

hi - the latest sky + PVR3's have 40 hours of recording space and the slightly older PVR2 has 20 hours - sounds like to me that you have the older type - the way to tell is do you have anytime TV on your system - if you have anytime tv you have the latest if not then you have the older type
