Water flowing straight through cistern?

Occasionally after flushing the water continues to trickle into the toilet and the tank will not fill. It is a dual push button Gala cistern. How can I remedy this?

i dnt think that is the anwser ur looking for. if the water carrys on flowing into the wc pan afta flush n its nt going dwn the over flow then i have the same problem and am still lookin for the answer but i think it means the dual flush valve is faulty n may need replacing or tightning. or u may need a torvec valve.

the arm with the ball on the end of it , has a little screw, were the water comes in , when you turn the screw clockwise , that stops water comming , in , when you turn it anticlock wise , it lets (more)water in "thats were the problem is" you need to take off , the lid , try push down the flush button and hold it down" now turn the outer silver ring anticlock"as you hold the button down , now you can take the lid off . it should be flushing at this time as you have hit the button , look for the screw , under the arm, turn it 3 or 4 turns clockwise , so that the water knocks off , just before it hits the overflow , back into the bowl, when your happywith it put the lid back on , and screw the outer ring back down on the lid,
