VITRA CISTERN
I've had exactly the same problem - and solved it. Turn off the water to prevent the cistern refilling.
Remove the lid off of the cistern. Flush to empty it.
Turn the large white chamber in the centre of the cistern slightly anti-clockwise and lift clear.
Mine had a white mastic seal which had come adrift and had prevented it from sealing properly.
I removed the mastic, replaced the chamber (turn clockwise to lock), turn on the water and the cistern works perfectly. I hope this works for you.

Take the lid off the cistern and watch what happens when you operate the flush mechanism. Do it several times if necessary...

You will notice a water inlet valve controlled by a float. If the float is set too high the inlet valve will never fully close, water will continue to dribble in and run down the overflow pipe into the WC pan.

Adjust the float to be lower in the water so that the valve shuts off before the water reaches the level of the overflow tube - about an inch.

If adjusting doesn't work and the valve fails to close then it's a relatively simple DIY job to replace the inlet valve providing you're able to turn off the water supply to it.

Good luck...
