how can i fix my fordham ellispe from running continuously?

when we flush toilet on full flush it will not close down and continues to let water run. there appears no adjustment . the plastic plunger just sticks open

There has to be some adjustment somewhere. If the 'Float and arm' type its the threaded rod with nut on end of the arm that pushes against the plunger. I've never come across a valve assembly without adjustment. The only ones were the all metal arm and ball float where adjustment was achieved by bending the metal float arm down, for less water, and up for more.
