My bosch clasixx will not empty unless i do it manually?

I have a bosch clasixx washing machine which is about 7-8 years old. It will go through a wash cycle, but it will not empty before the spin cycle. I have had to resort to emptying the machine by hand, wringing the washing out, putting it back into the machine and turning it on to spin to get it to work. Is there a problem with the pump or another part of the machine?

as davy mac said but also once u have the filter cover of put the selector on spin function and turn it on and see if the pump starts to work. also if the pump is turning us a pencil and carefully put it near the impella and see if the pump stops. sometimes the pump looks like its working but as soon as there is a load on the impella its stops the motor keeps spinning but the impella had broken on the shaft.

Check the filter for debris. If clear, shine a torch and look in the hole that the filter fits in and you will see the pump impeller, (looks like a small orange squeezer).
Use a pencil or somethin similar to try to turn the impeller. If it turns okay and no other grit or debris comes out, the pump may indeed be banjoed.
