can my TomTom 1 be fixed?

i put my charger in for journeys green light comes on saying its charging but its not, only way it charges is if i tape the charger to the sat nav, its the old tomtom1 the old charger not the usb connection, is it repairable and where can i take it if it can,

my tom tom comes on ok but when the screen come on and says continue it will not work the continue button lights up when pressed but will not change screen can you help me.

either a loose wire on the charger or the socket on the tomtom needs replacing. which involves soldering. very obvious answer if you new anything about electronics and if you dont how are you planning on fixing it!!
