my tomtom go 700 turns on but the screen is faint can any one help

On my tom tom GO 520 - it has screen freezed? why is this? I now can't switch in off or anything

Either backlight is no good - only way to fix would involve opening the screen up and replace the leds or the led strip - and asking that questions says too much for you to do

but also it could be a power component.

So best if you can borrow a screen to try first rather than buy a screen to find out its a component.
