We had a huge thunder and lightning storm after that I turned on the comp. and it gave me four beeps with two different tones and automatically shut down.
I fixed that by cleaning the memory card, it doesn't shut down anymore.
Now when I turn it on I get three beeps all the same tone and the monitor says out of range and it (monitor) shuts off but computer runs fine.

Interesting Question.

If you have done this and your computer is unable to start normally and display a message Out of range, It means that your monitor is s=not supported by this range so you have to reduce the range of current display to work as normally.

Do the Carefully.
Restart your computer and then continue to press F8 and then select "lastKnown Good Configuration" and will automatically select your previous Display setting which was working earlier.

if not Happen you can Start your computer in safe mode to perform this issue.

As you are begining to boot up press F8 (Just after bios and just before the green status bar for vista) and you should have a series of selections you can make. Try resetting the video to 640 x 480 (this should be a selection). Should now work at a reduced resolution. Once onto the system change the resolution to the desired setting.
