repairing the hose on my hoover?

The flexible hose on my dyson hoover has a hole in the pipe (at the top near plastic tool attachment) if I knew how to remove the hose from the solid end i could ccut out the faulty part and re insert the hose. Please advise.

My hose split close to the wand after 11 months of light use. I called dyson and got a new one no questions asked.

I used 2 layers of duck tape (Extra strong all purpose) to repair the old hose and... it still works after 2 years! So I have a brand new hose on stand by. When I finally use the brand new hose I will no doubt put duck tape on it to protect the top from being rubbed by the metal wand.
