How can I fix my Black & Decker model 82212's bump cap?

The two plastic "flaps" on the bump cap of my trimmer have finally broken away; the trimmer was discontinued by Black & Decker and they no longer have any parts for it. The trimmer still runs perfect and the bump cap is fine except for the missing flaps to hold it and the spool in place. I am trying to come up with a repair of some kind for the bump cap so I can still use it. I have been looking at other models of trimmers thinking that one of them may use a similar style bump cap but no luck yet.

You can try 01543 275048 they might have some old spares still in stock, long shot but worth a try
