With the machine off you tip the cutter edge up and line up arrow marks if there is any. Then the pull on the tapping head until the cutting head separates from the shaft. Remove the old string. Take the end of the new string and place it in the hole in the middle of the cutter head. Wrap the string in the direction of the arrow. continue to do so until the head is full. Cut the string and place it in the groove or small hole in head so it doesn't unravel. Make sure to leave about 4 inches past the hole. Feed the end trough the hole on the head cylinder attached to the pole. Pop the cutting head into place and pull the string until it pops. Push down on the head and pull the string to insure it will feed when needed.
