i caught cotton around stop motion knob while filling the bobbin.could not get all of the cotton out so i took the screw out of the stop knob the plate behind the knob fell out i replaced it but was unable to tighten the knob back, to begin sewing again, the needle does not move, don't know if the belt has come loose

Hello Brenda,
Take off the stop motion knob, put the 3 pronged washer in a different position, put the stop motion knob back on and tighten finger tight, tighten the screw in the stop motion knob and then test, if it still won't tighten take it off again and put the 3 pronged washer a different way even upsdie down.
