Dishwasher only works if I put 2-3 L water in?

Hi,

Bosh dishwasher only works when I put 2-3 litres of water in the bottom. Then it pumps that out and starts. Could this be a faulty water level sensor and can I change it?

take the left hand side panel off by taking 2 x T20 torx screws out of the front of the panel, open the door and you will see them, you should see the metering tank and the pressure sensor, ( the sensor is at the front at the bottom with two microswitches on it ) this unit normally gets blocked up, take it off, take it to bits and clean, there is also a hose that connects this unit to the sump that runs in front of the pump, take this hose off as well and clean out, this should sort your problem, don't forget to unplug appliance b4, safety first
