How can I fix my Hotpoint washing machine WM64?

I have had a problem when I wash on program 'H'. It always stops one notch before the final spin; I have to manually move the dial along for it to continue. Has anyone else experienced a similar problem? Another, more urgent problem is that recently the water and powder leaks out of the drawer! I have tried cleaning the drawer, to resolve any blockages etc, but it is still leaking. Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

manual says remember to turn OFF the RINSE HOLD button on the front of machine, third button from the top this button is only active on programme's F,G,H,& J this leaves the clothes in water to prevent creasing, hence you have to advance program to spin. Hotpoint switches work backwards IN is OFF,and OUT is ON should be some colour exposed on switches when switch is active and on.

as for the fill problem i agree with micks answer
unless you use pre wash programs I'd just use a dosing ball straight into the drum using liquid or powder, you get used to the clank of the ball honest and save powder this way

for the blockages, in the draw, its washing powder , gone hard in the tube , just after the draw, you need to unpulg it from the power, take the top off , look for the tube comming out at the backof the draw , unclip it , clean it out , put it all back the same way it came off , and test it,,,,,,,
