how to start my mk2 MR2?

Cant start my MR2, dashbaord lights are on, but when turning the ignition there is no noise from the engine. e.g no starter motor trying or engine trying to kick in.

hi, have you had any sort of bump in the car at all? reason for asking is on the late mk1 and mk2 versions they come equipped with a cut out incase of a collision or accident, they are very well hidden unfortunately, you will find yours underneath the driverside dashboard just to the left of the brake pedal, its spring loaded and sometimes can pop out causing the safety circuit to activate, its simple to reset just press the black round button in the centre and then try starting your engine, i believe fords from 1990 onwards also have the same arrangement fitted in the right side of the driver footwell, if the button doesnt stay pressed the its probably faulty so a new one may need to be fitted, i changed mine a while back and its been fine ever since, the toyota part no for this it STU p1d g1t, just hand this to the parts dep and youll get what you need, hope this helps your situation...
