my cd player wont work. vdo dayton?

my cd player wont play cds , iv tried original cd s. but no joy.. the display says cd error. iv cheaked the sensors .no dry joints on the bord.. got a power supply on it ,the cd does not spin.. any suggestions.. rbrooks2@hotmail.co.uk
