can anyone let me know why the red light is on. The green light is normally on, but the last couple of days the red light has been on. i've lost the instructions.

The manual states that the red indicator lights, when the temperature in the freezer compartment has risen above the correct temperature.
I have the same Hotpoint RF68P Fridge/Freezer, and the same problem.
I think it may be a faulty Thermostat, as I have turned it up full now and the red light has gone out.
