How can I raise the head on my mixer Kitchen aid ultra series?

How can raise the head on my mixer? the blades rub against the bottom of the bowl making my mixes or icing turn gray.

Natalie,

When you tilt the head back, there is a shiny, straight-slot screw looking back up at you from the head/stand pivot area. This is where you would make the adjustment with a common (flat-blade) screwdriver. With motor OFF, you place a dime in the bottom of the bowl and turn the screw gradually one way or another 'till the beater attachment no longer makes contact with the dime. Once this clearance is obtained, remove dime and cautiously run motor at lowest speed and check to see that clearance is maintained between beater attachment and bowl.
