How do I remove a lock barrel?

I am attempting to remove a defective lock barrel (LCT) and have followed the procedure of removing the screw and then wiggled the barrel whilst pulling quite strenuously but without any joy. It refuses to move. What do I do now please?

you have to insert key and turn to about thirty degrees this aligns the cam and it should pull out with the key try turning either way as it depends which side if the door you are as whether its left or right
