Hi Jacs, I had the identical problem yesterday, we removed the top and blew down the little black pipe on the right hand side connected to the round brown switch, then we cleaned the filter out which is located at the bottom of the machine behind the cover turn the dial anti-clockwise to remove we used pliers to turn dial because it was hard by hand. my washing machine is now washing to the correct programme and dont need to keep switching off to select the next programme manually. fingers crossed hope this works for you. :-)
