Pump stuck on ?

The pump on my dish washer is permenantly on. The power switch makes no diference, nor does the program dial. It sounds like it is sucking air through the pump, so I put a jug of water in the base and it cleared it no problem. I will try puting it on its side as recomended in other question above, but it seems to be slightly different problem. Any thing is worth a go ... right?
6050 this time how do I get at the pump

The problem is unlikely to be with the pump specifically - the pump seeems to be working very well indeed!

I would guess that the control electronics are asking the pump to run continuously when they should not and that is the cause of the problem.

It's remotely possible that a wire has come adrift and is shorting out with a pump connection but I doubt it very much. My money is on the PCB given what you say.

The pump is at the very bottom of the machine - immediately next to the internal sump - the control electronics are usually at the top of the door immediately behind the control panel.

I have no particular experience of Dishwashers so you might be wise to completely ignore my response.

Good luck...
