Sandra. Check if the waste pipe is blocked which is the usual reason for water remaining in the machine. If you just want to drain it enough to remove the clothes, the best way is to drain the machine via the filter at the bottom.
As you only need to drain it below the door, pull the machine forward and tilt it back onto its rear feet only a few inches.
IT WILL BE HEAVY, SO GET HELP.
Use a basin or other item to collect water, open the filter door slightly and fill the basin. quickly close the filter, dump the water and repeat until enough is out.
Once the clothes are out, and the water stops coming out of the filter door, look into the filter entrance, without the filter in place, and you will see an impellar, a bit like a small orange squeezer. Use a pencil to see if it turns freely, if it does, check the waste pipes for blockage, and if they are clear the pump may be dead.
