I have a hotpoint aquarius wd420 which won't work?

The on/off buttons have stuck in place and the display just keeps flashing 'test'. There is nothing in the operating manual to help and the washer just won't work. It is about 9 months old. Thankyou

I don't know if you are aware of the filter pipe underneath the drum inside the small back panel.
Our machine was showing a fault, by the on/off button flashing and the second and fourth button was illuminated.
We searched for the instruction manual, but it wasn't to be found, so I removed the back panel (the small plastic cover near the bottom at the back of the machine) and took a look at things to see if anything was amiss.....I then removed the black pipe (wide black rubber pipe that is connected to the bottom of the drum and is also connected to a white plastic tube that goes upwards to the side, it then is connected to the waste pipe so the water can escape the machine) and lts of gunge came out of the pipe.
Clean this black pipe and it should fix the problem, as this pipe should be routinely cleaned...so I found out.

I hope this helps,
