Indicators and hazard lights work off and on. Help?

I have an X reg Citroen Saxo Desire car. My indicators and Hazard lights have started giving trouble. They work sometimes and don't at others.
I have been told that this could be due to the hazard relay switch being faulty. If this is the case. Could I fix the problem myself and if not how much can I expect to pay a garage to fix it for me?

I have a similar problem. It failed my mot on my hazards as it is not switching on both of them. I have a local Citroen scrap dealer and got the switch for a fiver. Does anybody know what is involved in changing the switch? Thanks.

relay switches are preety cheap. if you got to a reputable garage, should be well under £100. but could be earth problems, which would be better as cheaper to fix.good luck.
